Dale Wheeler DDS, MS
It truly is a dream come true to wake up every day and work in orthodontics. When I was just 11 years old, I had braces. When I saw how great my smile looked after they came off, I knew I wanted to provide that same experience to others.
I followed my dream to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where I did my undergraduate work in organismal and systems biology, then transferred to the UT campus in Memphis to achieve my doctorate and do my residency in orthodontics. I have been practicing for more than 15 years and I always like to keep up-to-date on all the latest advances in my field so I can provide the best care possible for my patients.
I am lucky to work with a team of excellent people who are great at their jobs and are true friends to our patients. A lot of the people who come to our practice stay involved in their oral health for years, so it's wonderful to watch strong relationships build between the staff and patients over that time. We like to keep things optimistic and energetic. Our patients really appreciate the fun atmosphere we maintain at the office.
I really love working with people, so it's a blessing to have a profession that keeps me engaged with so many great folks in my community. I like seeing new faces all the time and doing everything I can to help my neighbors achieve healthy smiles. Whether it's putting on a set of life-changing braces or just teaching a patient about the importance of flossing and fluoride, there's nothing better than providing care for the people who come to my practice.
Outside The Office
I like to stay active, so I spend my leisure time golfing, playing ping pong, and serving as a referee for the basketball team at Central Baptist Church. I also enjoy traveling, especially with my family.
My wife, Tina, and I have raised three beautiful daughters here in my lifelong home of Crossville. Our oldest, Kirsten, is really outgoing (she even joined me on a skydiving adventure recently), and our twin daughters, Ashley and Heather, are a great team. Tina and I are looking forward to being grandparents one day, but for now we're happy to spend our time with our dog, Daisy, and our two cats, Miley and Sassy.
